YG Entertainment’s entrance into KOSDAQ & 3 new idol groups in the making?!~

Ummm. OH WOW. YG’s getting bigger and bigger~

Do any of you guys watch Terry He on Youtube? Well, 2 members of his old boy band thingy, Brian Kan and Don Lee, left in 2010 to become trainees at YG. I wonder if they’re debuting soon.

One of Korea’s top agencies, YG Entertainment, will finally be listed on the independent Korean stock market, KOSDAQ (the Korean counterpart to the American NASDAQ).

YG Entertainment’s application to enter KOSDAQ has been pending for a while now, and it was finally approved earlier this year. This new announcement states that their stocks will be listed on the market starting on November 23rd.

In light of such a big development, YG Entertainment held a press conference on November 8th and revealed their plans after entering KOSDAQ.

With top artists like Big Bang, 2NE1, Se7en, Gummy, Psy, Tablo, Yoo In Na, Jung Hye Young, and more under its label, YG Entertainment brought in approximately $40 million USD last year in sales, $9.2 million in operating profit, and $8.75 million in net profit. In the first half of 2011, they also recorded strong figures with $39.9 million in sales, $8.6 million in operating profit, and $6.4 million in net profit.

SM confirms CSJH The Grace comeback date~

Ahhh. reminds me of old times 8)

It has been officially announced that after a lengthy three year hiatus, the talented CSJH The Grace will finally be making their comeback into the K-pop scene this July!

On June 28th, SM Entertainment confirmed, “CSJH will be undergoing a new project for their comeback in the beginning of July. Please look forward to their new image.”

Speculations on the girl group’s comeback were set off after an episode of KBS 1TV’s “KBS Special – K-pop Makes The World Dance” had unveiled SME’s annual itinerary for their singers.

According to the schedule, CSJH The Grace will be making their comeback on July 13th with a title song called “VIP“. SM Entertainment explained, “The revealed itinerary was only a temporary one. Another official one has since been created.”

CSJH The Grace made their debut back in 2005 with their first single, titled “Too Good”, but only began to gain recognition with their hit track, “One More Time, OK“. The group went into hiatus three years later following their album release for “Stand Up People” back in 2008.

SM’s newest unit project M&D release debut track ‘Close Ur Mouth Song’~

Why don’t they debut someone new? :D

SM Entertainment fans were thrown for a loop when it was announced there was a new project unit in town. ‘M&D‘ – comprised of Super Junior’s Kim Heechul and the Trax’s Kim Jungmo – revealed that they teamed up as a duo of stark contrast, both in image and in sound.

Yet they managed to blend those differences together beautifully with “Close Ur Mouth Song“, a fast-paced track with definite pop influences and a rockstar edge.

SM, YG, & JYP Entertiainment made a combined total of $150 Million USD combined~

It was recently revealed that Korea’s ‘Big 3′ music agencies – YG, SM, and JYP Entertainment – earned a combined revenue of $150 million USD in sales for 2010, a $50 million increase compared to 2009.

KeyEast, SM, YG, JYP & many more join forces to establish new global agency: United Asia Management~

this is BIG BIG BIG BIG news. O:

KeyEast, AMENT, Star J Entertainment, SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment will be joining forces to create a huge Asian management agency named ‘United Asia Management‘!

This joint investment corporate body was created out of an effort to develop an industry that will push ‘Hallyu’ to ‘Asianlyu’. United Asia Management aims to pioneer a global market, and all artists under the six agencies will be under a database system that manages intellectual property rights. SME to produce a Korean adaption of popular Japanese Manga ‘Hana Kimi’~

OHEMGEE YAAAY! I’m uber uber excited~

SM Entertainment will be producing a drama based on the über-popular Japanese comic, “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi)”!

The comic gained widespread success, selling over 17 million copies alone. It had a Taiwanese drama adaptation which recorded the highest viewer ratings in 2006, while its Japanese drama garnered an average of 17.04% in viewer ratings. Continue reading
